CPD Cycle

The SBMEN CPD Cycle

  1. Plan: Define your professional goals, areas of interest, and skills gaps. A clear plan ensures your CPD is focused and aligned with your career progression. Use the SBMEN planning template to set priorities and identify relevant development areas.
  2. Engage: Participate in CPD activities that build your expertise and broaden your practice. Combine different learning formats for depth and range and follow a structured schedule to ensure consistent and intentional engagement throughout your CPD period.
  3. Record: Maintain an accurate log of all completed activities, including dates, duration, and outputs. Proper documentation supports accountability, enables assessment, and provides a clear record of your professional development over time.
  4. Reflect: Critically evaluate what you have learned and how it enhances your editorial practice. Identify key insights, assess the value of each activity, and determine how new knowledge or skills will be applied in your professional work.
  5. Submit and Review: Submit your CPD record for review where required. This ensures alignment with SBMEN standards and provides an opportunity for feedback, supporting continuous improvement and the maintenance of your certified professional status.
